About

Susan began her “Leffler In My Blood” project over 2 decades ago as a collection of images and stories related to our grandfather John Leffler, his descendants and extended family. Originally published on the now long defunct “MSN Pages”, then moved to Tumblr when MSN Pages was discontinued, and finally moved to the Photo Sharing Platform Flickr. Over the years Susan had collected much more material than she had put up on this Flickr page. The hope is that this website will be a good showcase for this additional material. I also intend to add genealogical information from my own collection. Any and all contributions of images, stories and information about family members will be accepted with gratitude.

John Raymond Leffler was born on March 3, 1897 in Polk Co. Nebraska to Alvin and Ida Anne (Lewis) Leffler. He was married to Lora Mae Curtis on December 25, 1917 in Greely Colorado. The teenage couple had eloped because their parents did not approve. They then returned to their respective homes. After the parents read about the marriage in the newspaper, they allowed John and Lora to move in together. John was drafted during WWI but did not serve overseas. They had four children together: Kenneth, Winifred, James and Wanda. The family has now expanded to 8 grandchildren and many great- and g-g- grandchildren.
